Green Works Natural Laundry Detergent

Posted on Friday, August 13th, 2010

greenworksnaturallaundrydetergentSlowly but surely, I’m converting my sweetie into an eco-conscious companion. He’s becoming increasingly aware of products that place less stress on the environment – from the workout shoes on his feet to the laundry detergent we use.

I discovered Green Works natural laundry detergent in a discounted shopping cart at one of my favorite stores. Because of the price and green features (uses natural plant and mineral-based biodegradable cleaning ingredients), I brought it home and convinced my mother to do the same. Also, one whiff of the lavender scent and you’d be completely sold too.

It’s funny that I wasn’t the first person to try out the laundry detergent. It sat up on the top shelf of my hallway closet for weeks because I hadn’t finished my old bottle. I was pleasantly surprised when my sweetie informed me that he really liked the new detergent. He also said that he preferred the scent and it’s lingering effects (not in those exact words, but close enough). Yesterday, used for the first time and I love it.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives

Green Works is a Clorox brand and the company makes much more than the 95% natural laundry detergent that I use. Stores shelves are filled with their Natural Dishwashing Liquid, Natural All-Purpose Cleaner, Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner, Natural Glass Cleaner, and Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner.

The company has also taken an active stance outside of just marketing their own products, such as teaming up with Clothing Swap, Inc. to help families green their closets. Green Works additionally has a marketing partnership with the oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization in the – the Sierra Club. Together, they help spread the word about clean air, water, parks and wildlife.
