I Love my AP Stylebook
Posted on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010
A new Associated Press Stylebook is released every year and inside, you’ll find an endless collection of information that benefits journalists, editors, students, and writers of all kinds. In an easy-to-read, easy-to-follow format, you’ll never have to question if you’re right with the grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and abbreviation in your writing.
The first time I was introduced to the Stylebook was in a grammar class for graduate school. Ever since, I’ve kept a Stylebook close at hand. You never know when a brain fog causes you to forget the easiest of grammar rules and other writing rules.
Some of the things the Stylebook covers:
- Media law
- Sporting terms
- Capitalization and abbreviation of military titles
- Commas and apostrophes
- Weather terms
- Plurals

I do like the Associated Press, although my copy is old. I also keep The Elements of Style on Hand by E.B.White. It’s classic, and always seems to help.

I have an old copy of The Elements of Style on Hand by E.B.White too! About 10 years old.
