Icebreakers Gum and Mints Review
Posted on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
From sour candies to whitening cubes of gum, Icebreakers (a Hershey brand) has a variety of sugar-free gums and mints – my new favorite being the Mango Kiwi Cooler. Icebreakers gum are small, compact cubes with flavors, such as Strawberry Smoothie, Raspberry Sorbet, and Wintergreen Splash. Inside many of the Icebreaker cubes, there are tiny little crystals that burst with flavor or produce a slightly sticky (flavorful) grit that soon dissolves after a bit of chewing.
The Icebreakers Ice Cubes line offers sugar-free gums that claim to whiten your teeth when you use on a regular basis (four weeks). If you’re an avid gum chewer, then taking advantage of this bonus shouldn’t be an issue. They also make plenty of mints – for pleasure and for freshening your breath, including a line of sour flavors. Although it clearly tastes like a sugar-free product, I still like the tastebud sensations of Icebreakers Peach Iced Tea mints. It’s different, peachy, and distinctly iced tea-flavored.
My only gripe is that supplying an Icebreakers habit can get pretty costly, which is why purchasing multi-packs at Walmart and looking for sales at Target are your best chances to indulge…or you can always enter a giveaway…
Cool Fact: According to Mayo Clinic researchers, chewing sugarless gum for 12 minutes at 100 chews per minute can burn an extra 11 calories per hour.
