Yogi Tea – Mexican Sweet Chili

yogitea-mexicansweetchiliYogi Tea promises a lively and invigorating experience with their Aztec Sweet Chili (formerly Mexican Sweet Chili) and it delivers. Following a traditional Ayurvedic blend of organic ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and clove – I also detected the pleasant flavor of orange peel. The tea is initially tasty and really does warm the body. It’s a cross between a spicy wake-up call and citrus relaxant. At times, I identify a slightly chocolate aftertaste, but that’s not a surprise since the history of chocolate involves the Aztecs consuming bitter chocolate drinks seasoned with spices. Overall, it’s pretty good if you like spicy foods and drinks. Due to its spicy nature, I prefer it as a once-in-a-while drink and over the duration of one serving, I find that it becomes too heavy to finish a whole cup.

As a side note, the tea is 77% organic and caffeine-free.
